Here are some writings taken from the Book of Lamentations, Chapter 1. Could this be our nation, other countries, our lives, marriages and families at risk?
There is no escaping the price to be paid for continually turning away from a holy, just and loving Creator. As His creation, we are to honor and to glorify Him. But, it seems most are going their way and not God’s way. The cost will be enormous. The corrosive and destructive effects of sin are everywhere. We mus...Read Full Post »

It is often difficult to listen to the honest critique of another. I know, I have been there.
What's keep you from being open to others ideas and suggestions? Do you always have to be right? Is it all about you? Could there be other ways, options and routes? What is God wanting?

My only way of surviving these types of ...Read Full Post »

The Skunk Test
Skunks smell. Sometimes, we smell too, by the lives we live. We smell of deceit, arrogance, selfishness, greed, disrespect, abuse, and on and on it goes. So when the skunk test comes, will there be any odor displeasing to God and hurtful to others?

Is life all about me? Could it be that life is not all about me, but about "Thee". Just think about it. All life comes from Thee, God. All life depends upon Thee, God for its sustanance, sanity and survival. The bottom line: "me" without "Thee" will end up paying a dear price. There is no room in our lives for pride, selfishness and greed. These are deadend roads to broken lives and relationships.

In my own life and observations in counseling, I would suggest that 80% of the damage to one's elf-concept experienced by age 21. From conception, childhood, adolescence to young adults our experiences formulate a healthy or unheathy self-concept.
What about you? Where has your damage come from and when?
If it happened before age 21, and you have not dealt with it, then most likely still has a foothold in your life, relationships and work?

In my reading today, this verse caught my attention. "The Lord tests the heart." Prov 17:3
It made me ponder these two questions: What would He find in my heart? Would it honor Him and others?
I wonder how many of us would pass the Lord's testing of our hearts? If He examined ,our thoughts, actions and words would they honor God?
I think most of us would not do well with an exam of the heart? Possibly, it's time to re-think...Read Full Post »
